Obituary of Tom Drummond
DRUMMOND - Hugh Thomas "Tom"
born July 16, 1932, of Brantford, Ontario passed away on Thursday, October. 21, 2021. Son of Hugh and Gladys Drummond and devoted husband of 69 years to the late Pat (nee Chandler, deceased March 29, 2021). father to Kathy, in Buckhorn, Ontario and son, Chris, in London, Ontario. Grandfather to Kathy’s sons Kevin & Randy, and Chris & Helen’s children Rob & Rebecca. Great grandfather to Hudson (Rebecca’s son) & Austin (Kevin, and his wife Kelsey’s son). Tom had close neighbours and many friends, living in the Echo Place home since 1955, as well as a home in Florida. Tom retired as Staff Sergeant after a long career with the Brantford Police Dept. He was a founding member of the Brantford Piston Pushers Car Club and Kohler Dragway (since Cayuga). He won many trophies far and wide with his roadster. Tom was also an active volunteer at Geneseo, NY Historical Air-Craft Group, camper with the Brantford Sundowners and member of Harmony United Church. Tom was known as 'magic fingers' because he could fix just about anything, happily doing so for family and friends. He was a star mechanic at Baker's Electric out of BCI and before joining the police force. He and Pat enjoyed gardening, travelling and collecting. Tom's special treasures were toy tractors and antique pressing irons. Friends will be received at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road N. on Monday from 12:30 - 1 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 1 pm. Interment to follow, Farringdon Burial Ground. In keeping with Covid-19 protocol face coverings and social distancing are mandatory. Donations may be made in memory of Tom to the Alzheimer's Society of Brant.
