Obituary of Ron Dean

DEAN – Ronald George

After a difficult battle with cancer, it is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce Ron’s passing on Wednesday June 30, 2021, at home with his loving family at his side. Ron was born in Scarborough to the late George and Marjorie Dean, but lived in Brantford for most of his life. Beloved husband of Elaine Dean (nee Evans) for almost 60 years.  Loving father of Paul and his wife, Cynthia.  Proud and devoted gramps of Natalie and Tara whom he loved more than anything in this world. Dear brother to the late Elsie Stanbridge and her late husband Lawrence, Richard and his wife Judy, the late James, Joan Mask and her husband John and Linda Cioch and her husband James.    Dear brother-in- law to Robert and Gail Evans and the late Rose and William Weiler. Loving uncle and great uncle to many cherished nieces and nephews, two of which are our god children, Cheri Tropiano and Colin Evans. Ron will be dearly missed by our extended family members in England who are a treasured part of our family.  Other extended family members as well as friends and neighbours will miss his friendly and caring attitude. Ron will always be remembered for his good-natured personality, his jokes and his wonderful sense of humour, which he maintained until the end.  What he enjoyed most was time spent with family and friends.  He loved to travel, and we were fortunate enough to enjoy many wonderful vacations with our family and friends, including many trips to England.  He will never be forgotten and will be forever in our hearts. The family would like to thank Greg Weiler (nephew) who generously gave of his time to help us care for Ron during this entire sad time.  We would also like to extend a special thanks to our nurse, Eva, from Bayshore, whose care and compassion went above and beyond.  Also, many thanks to all the PSW’s and HCT’s who gave wonderful care to Ron.   And a sincere thank you to Dr. Baker for her many years of excellent care for Ron.  She has always been there for us when we needed her and is so kind and caring. Friends may pay their respects at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road N. Brantford, on Friday July 9, 2021, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Saturday July 10, 2021, at 1:30 pm.
