Obituary of Joan Isobel Loney

LONEY, Joan Isobel

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Joan (Eadie). She passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital surrounded by her loving daughters and granddaughter in her 86th year, on June 14th, 2021. She is the beloved wife of the late David (2020) and is predeceased by her late parents William and Beatrice Eadie. She is survived by her cherished daughters Kim Wildey (Steve) and Lori Newsome (Scott). As well, by her loved grandchildren Matthew, Bryana (Jay), Tyler, Brooke and great grandchildren. Joan will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Joan was easily defined as a loving wife, mother and nani. A caring, loving woman that always put her family first. Joan aspired to bring light into everyone’s life, and she succeeded. Wearing her heart on her sleeve, our family was shown exceptional love, kindness and generosity throughout all of Joan’s years. She lived her life selflessly, simply and full of love. Joan shared many fond memories at the family cottage and the Florida home with her family. She loved to spend her days outside on the dock and water spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Joan shared many laughs and golf strokes as a longtime member at the Brantford Golf and Country Club. As a proud mother, she was heavily involved in all aspects of her daughters and grandchildren’s lives, always being their number one fan and supporter. Joan was easily the most enthusiast one in the stands cheering on her loved ones and exemplified so much pride for them. Joan among many things was extremely beautiful and spent many days of her life being an exceptional model and very delighted of her career. Joan was also the proud co-owner of Anthrafilter Media & Coal Ltd with her late husband and adored partaking in supporting David’s dreams and attending all conferences with him. A humble and kind woman, Joan donated generously throughout her life to many organizations, including Hamilton General Hospital and David Braley Research Centre, holding a special place in her heart for the St. Andrews United Church. Thank you to the many physicians who closely looked after Joan and the amazing staff at BGH who provided excellent care and looked after our angel. Arrangements have been entrusted to McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, Brantford. A Celebration of Life will be arranged for a later date. In lieu of donations they can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Branford General Hospital.Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at http://www.mccleisterfuneralhome.ca
