Obituary of Wilma Hendrika Schuit
SCHUIT – Wilma Hendrika (nee Myderwyk)
October 28, 1952 - January 11, 2021
By God’s sovereign design He took home Wilma Schuit (Myderwyk) on Monday, January 11, 2021. She will be forever loved and missed by her husband, Henry Schuit. Wilma was a precious grandma and caring mother to Jessica and Jim Sampson (Jamie, Jenna), Brian and Kim Schuit (Reuben, Andrew, Kenan, Emerson, Trent), Kim and Mike Windsor (Ethan, Alexis), and Geoff and Kristina Schuit (Theo). Wilma was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Alice Myderwyk, and her sister, Tini Bosch. Throughout her life, Wilma was a kind friend and loving sister to Corrie (and Pieter) Velthove, Lisa (and Teo) Trapman, Winnie (and Fred) Stapper, and Henry & Jeanette Myderwyk. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Wilma was born in 1952 in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1954. She spent her childhood in Beamsville, Ontario, marrying Henry in 1975. Wilma focused her life’s work on helping her husband and caring for her family. Wilma’s talent for crafts and quilting was often combined with her fondness for those around her by regularly gifting beautifully created pieces to others. Wilma spent many hours at the dialysis units in both Hamilton and Brantford hospitals, and was always thankful for the care she received. Mom was known for her resilience, and the joy of the Lord was apparent in Wilma’s acceptance of the hardships of life with peace and a smile. Wilma’s signature laugh will be missed by all those who loved her, including many members of the Providence Free Reformed Church in St. George. A private funeral and family burial will be held this week. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McCleister Funeral Home, Brantford. In lieu of gifts, a donation to the Dialysis Unit of the Brantford General Hospital would be gratefully received.
