Obituary of Jim Dinsmore

Dinsmore James (Jim) peacefully, at the Brantford General Hospital, on Saturday, January 4, 2020 in his 76th year. Beloved and cherished husband of Betty May (nee Bessey) for 54 years. Loving father of Mark (Denise), and Deanna Tuinhof (Brian). Will be sadly missed by grandchildren Emma Dinsmore, Adrian and Ryan Melanson. Survived by siblings Margaret Rose (Bob Knowles), Judy Rutter, Melvin, Marilyn Laughen (Ross), Beverly Duke (Terry) and two other siblings. Brother-in-law to Eleanor Pedley, Lois Bessey, Judy Bessey, and John Stephan. Predeceased by sister Betty Stephan and brother-in-law Ron Rutter. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jim was a former CEO/ member of the Optimist Club, and was active for many years with the Scotland Fire department. The program co-ordinator of Get them out Alive, smoke detector sales program. A member of the Brantford Garden Club, founder of the Tri-County Horse club, and owner of Fireside Plus. Jim was well known for attending many parades with his horses and carriages. His love of gardening is well known for his many statues and flowers. May he rest in peace with his bed of roses and in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Life will be held at the McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME 495 Park Road North, Brantford on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Reception will follow at the funeral home. A private family interment will take place at Scotland cemetery on Friday, January 10, 2020. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Downie for his care and compassion.
