Obituary of Bob Joiner
JOINER –Robert C. “Bob” P.Eng.
On August 1, 2019, at 90 years young, passed away at home in Brantford, surrounded by his family. He was born March 24, 1929 in London, raised in Lambeth, ON, and graduated from Mechanical Engineering, University of Toronto in 1951. He married his best friend and love of his life Marj on August 4, 1951. Prior to retirement they lived in Lambeth,Sarnia, Guelph and Amberley. Loving father of 3 children, Scott (Stephanie) of Parry Sound, Nancy Young (David) of Brantford, Sue Adam (Don) of Sarnia. Much loved Papa to Mitch Joiner, Katie Durand, Melanie Samuel, Niki Kazemzadeh, Tori Thurai-Adam, and Lucas Adam along with 7 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters, Isabel Sanderson of London and Ruth Hodgins of Ilderton also sister-in-law Ruth (Bob) Morrison of Kitchener. Bob had a wonderful life filled with love and laughter. He especially enjoyed the many adventures with his antique cars, playing tennis, watching the Blue Jays and spending time with Marj and their extensive network of friends. They had many happy retirement years wintering in Venice, Florida at their Bird Bay condo and enjoying life at Foxboro in Baden the rest of the year. They recently relocated to a retirement apartment in Brantford to be close to their daughter. The family would like to thank their Foxboro friends, Brantford Seasons staff and LHIN / Outreach team for their caring support that kept him comfortable at home as per his wishes. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will occur at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to the McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Road N. Brantford. Donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Stedman Community Hospice, Brantford or Cancer Society.
