Obituary of Gordon Edward Ellis
ELLIS, Gordon Edward “Puddin”
Past away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday April 9, 2019 at age 83. Dearly loved husband of Vera and loved father of grateful son Edmond. He is survived by his brother Hughie (Bette). Gord treasured his special Brantford neighbours (John Laing) and Port Dover buddies (Jimmy and Dave). A heartfelt thanks to Gordie’s long time cherished friend Don Hagey, who was always there for him for anything and everything over countless years. He will be forever remembered by all of his friends and extended family members for whom he touched. Gordon was extremely passionate when it came to his career in Manufacturing, Production & Inventory Control with WABCO in Paris, ON and APICS. Gord was a leading visionary in this profession working tirelessly with peers to develop innovative Educational Manufacturing Systems to benefit workers and management all over the world on their daily operations. More importantly, his biggest passion were people and the common working men and women that were the foundation of these companies. Gord understood more than anyone that every worker deserves a voice and is of equal importance. It was important that upper management humbled themselves and embraced this equality to ensure long term success and healthy growth. He enjoyed competitive Curling at The Brant Curling Club during the 1960’s and 70’s, as well as time at the cottage in Port Dover cooking and Bar-B-Qing with family and friends. Gordon also loved watching old classic movies and cheering on the Toronto Raptors and the Blue Jays during his retirement. Gordie valued the comradery with Terry Ireland and the early morning guys at the gym and Port Dover Tim’s as well as vacations in Cuba. He will be remembered for his selflessness and willingness to lend a helping hand to all in need and was a loving, kind and gentle soul. Vera and Edmond invite friends and family to a “Gordie Style” casual BBQ to celebrate his life. Time and location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gord, are gratefully appreciated for the Brentwood Recovery Home, 2335 Dougall Ave, Windsor, ON N8X 1S9 1-519-253-2441 www.brentwoodrecovery.com. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at the “Gordie Style” BBQ.
