Ted McCleister - President
Ted has been a licensed funeral director since 1972, graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in English and Economics and from Humber College with a Funeral Service Diploma. Upon his father's sudden death in 1972, he became the managing director of McCleister Funeral Home and its president in 1979. He has attended many conferences and seminars on grief, notably the World Symposiums held annually at King's College, University of Western Ontario for 13 years. Ted brings this information to the families served and the staff. In Brantford and other communities across the province, Ted has participated in seminars, workshops and speaking engagements about bereavement topics which include: helping children cope, men's issues, pre-arranging and estate matters. Ted has also been a resource to the Grand Erie Board of Education and the Victorian Order of Nurses.
Randy Tait - Managing Director
Randy received his Funeral Directors license in 1979 and joined the McCleister Funeral Home staff in 1984. Randy married his wife Suzanne in 1985 and they have celebrated over 30 years of marriage. they have three adult children; Bailey, Zach and his wife Amber, Adam and his wife Seraphina. Randy enjoys cooking and spending time with his family and their Jack Russell Terrier, Sophie.
Lloyd McBride - Funeral Director
Licensed since 1977, Lloyd has exceptional technical skills. We are proud to have his vast experience in this area and consider it a valuable asset to our firm. Lloyd's hobbies are his several antique cars, English and French, clock collecting and British Terriers.
Marysa Rumble-Lauriault - Funeral Director
Marysa became a licensed Funeral Director in 2007. She previously graduated from Fanshawe College with a diploma in Interior Design. She is a third-generation funeral director, being part of the family of Rumble Funeral Home, previously in Princeton and Burford. As a lifelong resident of Burford, Marysa is active in her community and church, Blessed Sacrament. She has been an active member of the Paris Lions Club since 2007 and has been involved with Girl Guides of Canada and the Big Sisters of Brant County. Marysa and her husband, Philippe were married in 2008 and have two children.
Pierce C. Brown - Funeral Director
Pierce was born in Hamilton, and raised in Brantford. He attended Assumption College School. At sixteen years of age, Pierce discovered his desire to aid families after the loss of his Grandfather. Prior to attending Humber College, Pierce graduated from the General Arts & Science Program at Mohawk College. In the fall of 2012, Pierce enrolled in the Funeral Service Education Program at Humber College; completing his internship at McCleister Funeral Home. In 2014, Pierce received his Ontario Funeral Director License. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, the outdoors and spending time with his wife Ashley, family and friends.
Todd T. Taylor - Funeral Director
Todd's interest and passion in funeral service was originally initiated by Ted McCleister and the staff of McCleister Funeral Home at the age of six following the death of his grandfather in 1984. Following involvement the cooperative education program through North Park Collegiate in 1995, Todd continued his education completing the apprenticeship portion of his training at a funeral home in Oshawa. Receiving his Province of Ontario Funeral Director's License in 2001, he returned to Brantford working along side the Glaves family with both Beckett-Glaves and Hill & Robinson Funeral Homes and later with the Dennis Toll Funeral Home. In January 2015 Todd embarked on a new challenge as the Managing Funeral Director with the McKersie-Kocher Funeral Home in Milton. With strong roots and a love for Brantford, Todd once again found change and joined the staff at McCleister Funeral Home in the fall of 2016. Todd is a member of St. Mark's Anglican Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Dunsdon Branch #461. Todd and his lovely wife Jen are kept busy enjoying there 2 boys, Austin and Owen.
Rob is a graduate of Pauline Johnson Collegiate, and was a Brantford Bison Alumni from 1985 - 2009. He was previously a part of Big Brothers in Brantford for 10 years. He also served as a Director of Big Brothers for four years. He has been a football official in Brantford for over 25 years, he is involved in the Arnold Anderson Sports Fund, and is very involved in it's activities and fund-raising in Brantford. He is a retired employee of the Government of Ontario Corrections Service after 27 years, as well as Parks and Recreation in Brantford for eight years. Married to Joanne, they have three children and seven grandchildren.
Paul is the retired second-generation owner of Bartle's Store, family owned in Brantford for 56 years, which was widely recognized as a popular meeting place because of its famous toy, gift and fruit baskets department. He is a graduate of Pauline Johnson Collegiate and Fanshawe College as a Civil Engineering Technician. In sports, Paul is a Life Member and an Ed Henick award winner (2005) of Canadian Junior Football League and was inducted in 2009 into the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition in the Builder category for football. In 2016 Paul received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ontario Football Alliance. Paul has been a member of the Brantford Bisons Alumni and Football Association for 43 years. Paul and his wife of 43 years, Diane, have raised daughter Beth and son John Paul, and have three grandchildren.
Barbara is our hairdresser bringing with her 30 years experience. She is presently a part-time instructor at Mohawk College in hairdressing and is able to do excellent work from photographs provided by families. She is the proud mom of three sons presently attending university.
Les has been an assistant at McCleister Funeral Home since 1993 and has taken funeral home training from the Order of the Golden Rule, an international association of funeral directors. He has served as a board member and group facilitator for the Bereaved Families of Ontario. Married for 38 years to Lynn, Les is the proud father of 2 children, Ross and Emily and 2 grandchildren, Maradith and Claire.
Born and raised in Brantford, Bill worked for the City of Brantford for 35 years, notably as the Real Estate Manager for 25 years. He attended the Hamilton Institute of Technology for Business Administration and is a Real Estate Appraiser. Bill has been married to Wendy since 1972, they have two daughters, Michelle and Christine and three grandchildren, Zoe, Jack and Joe.
Born and raised in Brantford, Laurie has been with McCleister Funeral Home since 1996. Previously, he worked for municipal government for 20 years in the Engineering Department, graduating from M.T.C. drafting courses and Traffic Technical courses. Later, he was the owner of a television and video store. With his wife Dianna, Laurie is the proud father of 2 sons and 2 grandchildren.
An active, long-time member of St. Pius Roman Catholic Church, Joanne has been married to Mike for 37 years. They have 2 children and 1 granddaughter. At the funeral home she acts in many capacities, including hostess for receptions in our main-floor hospitality suite, receptionist and as a funeral directors' assistant.
An active long-time member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Albino is also very involved with the Italian community of Brantford and the Sardinia Club of Toronto. Albino has served with McCleister Funeral Home since 1996. Married to Maria, he enjoys his family of 2 sons, 1 daughter and 6 grandchildren.
Irene is our office administrator in charge of accounting and has worked for McCleister Funeral Home for over 25 years. Married to Mike for 37 years, they have 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren. They are both involved with various activities and clubs in their community and church.
Born and raised in Brantford, he is married to Nancy and they have one son, Chris and two grandchildren. Randy's hobbies are walking and volunteering at the Brantford Food Bank. Randy has also been a crossing guard for the past 7 years. Previously, he worked at the Royal Bank as an Operations Analyst. Randy has been a part of the McCleister Funeral Home team for the past 8 years.
Lyle was born in Toronto, spent his teen years in Brantford. Is a past commanding Officer of Admiral Nelles Sea Cadets, worked as a Technician and Manager for Bell Canada retiring after 28 years then spent the next 7 years contracting in the U.S. While with Bell, he was seconded to Saudi Arabia Telecom to help design and build a high speed data network. Since retiring from Telecommunications, Lyle has received certification as an independent Licensed Life Insurance agent. He enjoys teaching families how to get control of their finances and reach their goals. Lyle is married to Ruth (nee McConachie); they have 2 sons, 1 granddaughter, and are very active with Sydenham & Heritage United Church. Lyle has been with McCleister Funeral Home since November 2014.
Born in Caistorville, raised in Beamsville, Martha currently resides in Mount Hope with her husband Nathan and two cats. She has spent many years working with the public. She sat on the Advisory Committee for Disabilities at Queens Park and Hamilton City Hall, as well as a number of other committees. She was the chairperson of the Council of Women for five years, and chaired non-profit housing for the YWCA for six years. Martha was also actively involved with the West Hamilton Lions Club, as well as Girl Guides Canada for many years. Volunteered for many years for the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) assisting in providing meals at the meat canner. In her spare time, Martha enjoys volunteering at her local church, Chedoke Presbyterian, reading, entertaining in her home, and helping people. She is the proud mother of two sons, and three grandchildren.
